Hong Kong, China Women’s U20 Representative Team Try-Out for Participating in the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 World Championship

Programme Summary
The Hong Kong Women’s U20 Representative Team will be selecting players into the training squad from which players will be selected to represent Hong Kong, China at the World Lacrosse Women’s U20 World Championship in August 2024. The tournament will be held in Hong Kong, China on the 15th – 25th August 2024.

The ongoing programme is designed for participants to receive top level instruction and support, preparing them for the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 World Championship. The final selection for the team will be made in the second quarter of 2024.



Player Requirements:
- Players must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Players must be born on or between 1 Sept 2003 and 14 August 2009
o Holder of a permanent HKSAR ID card or HKSAR passport, or;
o Have one or both parents, adoptive parents or step-parents born in Hong Kong or;
o Have one or more birth or adoptive grandparents born in Hong Kong or;
o Minimum of a two-year residency period in Hong Kong within the last five (5) years or;
o Attending school in Hong Kong and continue to be schooled in Hong Kong for the next 2 years.
- Players must be members of HKLA and is prepared to dedicate time and effort to the team.

Notes:
1) Players are required to attend all sessions.
2) Players must bring their own reversible pinnies and wear the same one for all try-out dates.

 Program Details:

• The program consist of 3 on-field training and 2 S&C gym session a week
• If you are unavailable to attend the try-outs with a valid reason, please contact Coach Gemini Fan by [email protected] Players will be notified of any schedule changes accordingly
• A maximum of 35 players will be selected into the training squad
• If you do not normally reside in Hong Kong, you will be expected to return to Hong Kong periodically to participate in training and competition with the team and be in Hong Kong to participate in the Hong Kong Lacrosse Open 2024 during Easter weekend (29 March – 1 April 2024) and be in Hong Kong one month prior to the Championship to train with the team. Whilst not in Hong Kong, it is expected that players are participating in lacrosse activities regularly and will update coaches regularly regarding their progress and follow any S&C programs assigned to them.
• The final number of players to be selected will be announced after the World Lacrosse GA on confirming the number of players allowed in the squad.

• Costs
  
  • Try-out Fee HKD $250 (Non-refundable)
  • Once selected, the programme fee will be $2000 plus an elite athlete’s fee of $2000 for the season collected by 2 instalments. (Non-refundable)
  • Team tournament and trip fees will be communicated to players prior to the selection of the travelling squad.
  Pre-Try-out Training:
  These optional trainings are additional trainings for players who are looking to practice and train before the try-outs. These training sessions will be open to all players who sign up and maybe mixed with players from other programmes. These trainings are not part of the try-out process.
