HISTORY OF LACROSSE

Lacrosse was originally played by the indigenous peoples of North America as early as 1100AD. Modern day lacrosse was established in the 17th Century and it is now played in over 50 countries worldwide.

Lacrosse was included in the 1904 and 1908 Olympics with teams from Canada, the United States, and Great Britain. It was contested as a demonstration sport in the 1928,1932 and 1948 Olympics.
