Officials
No Nice Judge, No Nice Game
Lacrosse officials, regarded as "The Third Team", play a very important role to promote the spirit of Lacrosse while keeping competitiveness of the game. HKLA aims to improve the standard of Lacrosse officiating to support the growth of Lacrosse both locally and internationally. We have Referee (for Men's games) / Umpire (for Women's games) Certification process to breed the Lacrosse official community in Hong Kong since 2009.
Dennis Cheng ([email protected]) is now the Referee-in-Chief of HKLA and Joyce Tai ([email protected]) is the Umpire-in-Chief of HKLA.Currently, we have two levels of official certification:
- Level 1 – Designed for beginners to participate as officials
- Level 2 – Designed for experienced officials to participate in international officiating
The official community in Hong Kong has been growing and is showing presence in more international tournaments (e.g. World Lacrosse Championships, ASPAC Lacrosse Championships, European Lacrosse Championships, and etc.). Workshops and Exams for Official certification will be held once to twice per year. If you are interested to become a part of HK Zebra, please join us!
